Sunday night and back to it tomorrow. The weekend was mostly quiet. I spent all day Saturday working but we took advantage of some milder weather Saturday night and took the kids into Boston. We ate out at a Venezuelan restaurant with friends of ours who are expecting their first baby in a couple months. After dinner we went back to their place. They have an awesome apartment filled with beautiful things, mostly breakable and low to the ground. My kids gave them a glimpse into everything they’ll have to put away once baby arrives and starts getting mobile. They made us a special dessert which everyone gobbled up. Think fruit crisp, minus the crisp so a bit healthier! Yummmm! Recipe below! With full bellies, we jammied the kids up and they were out after only 10 minutes in the car. Jim and I enjoyed 30 minutes of quiet conversation and radio on the way home. This morning, we made homemade donuts and enjoyed a lazy couple hours hanging out and watching a couple cartoons. I had high hopes of crossing out a few items from an ambitious spring cleaning list, but I didn’t get to many. Both of my munchkins were a little clingy today, still not 100% after that nasty virus. But that’s okay. On a quick run to the store to get a frame for a new print for Manny, we noticed that the crocus are up. Ahhh. Spring is coming! It’s the little things. Have a beautiful week!!
Fruit topped ice cream bowls
Peel and slice 2-3 apples. Cook apples with 1-2 tablespoons of brown sugar. Add a 1/2 cup or so of fresh blueberries, raspberries, or other fruit. Stir until cooked. Allow to cool slightly and top over your favorite vanilla ice cream.
