Catching up

Hello everyone! I didn’t mean to leave this space so empty for so long, but the second half of May seems to be getting away from me. We spent a beautiful Mother’s Day in Maine, and then on to Newburyport. It seemed like weather was not going to cooperate but then the sun suddenly came through so we headed straight over to the beach for a little bit. It was the perfect day, really.

We celebrated Jim’s birthday with a trip to New Hampshire for the Peterborough Children and the Arts Festival which was fun as always. The kids loved it! And now it’s Friday and we’re heading into Memorial Day weekend. We’ve got some low key party plans in the works for Sister Girl’s 2nd birthday which is coming up in a couple weeks! Think ice cream themed! More to come on that. Enjoy this weekend and I hope to be back sooner rather than later next time.

Happy Mother’s Day

I hope you all enjoyed your Mother’s Day! We had fantastic weather here so after church, we headed up to Tower Hill Botanic Garden for a picnic. The place was packed and a ton of new flowers were blooming. We dined on egg salad wraps, watermelon, yogurt, and chocolate chip cookies. Manny and Sister Girl enjoyed having their shoes off in the cushy grass, not at all like our backyard! Of course, I forgot my camera but we snapped these two pics with my cell phone.

I’ll leave you with a quote from Sally Clarkson, author of “The Mission of Motherhood”. For me, this really speaks to my heart. Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms and moms-to-be!

“And the fundamental mission of motherhood now is the same as it always was: to nurture, protect, and instruct children, to create a home environment that enables them to learn and grow, to help them develop a heart for God and His purposes, and send them out into the world prepared to live both fully and meaningfully.”
